Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
