The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
