The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 who observe Zakah; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
