And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink. 33 "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then, after them, We brought forth other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside watered by a fresh spring. 50
