And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
