Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
