Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
