The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 In columns outstretched. 9
