The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
