۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 and said: “Who is better, our deities or he?” They said so only out of contentiousness. They are a disputatious people. 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they waiting for the Hour of Doom when the torment will suddenly strike them and they will not even realize from where it came? 66 The friends shall on that day be enemies one to another, except those who guard (against evil). 67
