The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
