Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
