The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
