1/4 Hizb 39
< random >
Those who deny the truth say, "When we have turned to dust like our fathers, shall we be brought back to life again? 67 We were promised this, forsooth, we and our fathers. (All) this is naught but fables of the men of old. 68 Say to them (O Muhammad SAW) "Travel in the land and see how has been the end of the criminals (those who denied Allah's Messengers and disobeyed Allah)." 69 (O Prophet), do not grieve over them, nor be distressed at their designs. 70 And they say, “When will this promise come, if you are truthful?” 71 Say: "The chastisement whose hastening you have been asking for, maybe a part of it has drawn quite near to you." 72 Truly, your Lord is bountiful to mankind, but most of them are not grateful. 73 And verily thine Lord knoweth whatsoever their breasts conceal and whatsoever they make known. 74 for there is nothing [so deeply] hidden in the heavens or on earth but is recorded in [His] clear decree. 75 Surely this Quran declares to the children of Israel most of what they differ in. 76 and, verily, it is a guidance and a grace unto all who believe [in it]. 77 Lo! thy Lord will judge between them of His wisdom, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 78 So put thy trust in God; thou art upon the manifest truth. 79 You cannot make the dead to listen, or the deaf to hear the call, when they have turned their backs, 80 Nor canst thou lead the blind out of their error. Thou canst make none to hear, save those who believe Our revelations and who have surrendered. 81 ۞ And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not faith in Our revelations. 82

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
