Say: 'I am only a warner. There is not any god but God, the One, the Omnipotent, 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 [how can] you turn away from it?" 68 I had no knowledge of the Exalted Assembly when they argued [against the creation of man]: 69 it has only been revealed to me that I am a plain warner." 70 (Remember) When your Lord said to the angels, “I will create a human from clay.” – 71 After I have created him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves to him.” 72 The angels prostrated themselves, all of them. 73 Except Iblis. He was filled with pride and turned an unbeliever. 74 Said (God): "O Iblis, what hindered you from adoring what I created by My own authority? Are you too proud, or too high and mighty?" 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 He said, “Therefore exit from heaven, for you have been outcast.” (To disrespect the Prophets – peace and blessings be upon them – is blasphemy.) 77 And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all, 82 except those of Your servants, the chosen ones from amongst them.” 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 (O Prophet), tell them: “I do not ask you for any recompense for the performance of this task; nor am I given to affectation. 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
