Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
