Verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) are Gardens of delight (Paradise) with their Lord. 34 Should We treat the true believers and the wrongdoers alike? 35 What is the matter with you? How could you judge this to be so? 36 Or do you have a scripture in which you learn 37 surely in it you shall have whatever you choose! 38 Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge? 39 Ask them: "Which of you is able to vouch for this?" 40 Or have they some "Partners" (in Allahhead)? Then let them produce their "partners", if they are truthful! 41 On the day when the Shin* will be exposed and they will be called to prostrate themselves, they will be unable. (Used as a metaphor) 42 With eyes downcast, abasement stupefying them. And they had been summoned to prostrate themselves while they were yet unhurt. 43 So leave to Me those who reject this message. We shall lead them step by step to their ruin, in ways beyond their ken. 44 A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan. 45 Or dost thou (Muhammad) ask a fee from them so that they are heavily taxed? 46 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 47 But wait thou for thy Lord's decree, and be not like him of the fish, who cried out in despair. 48 Were it not that favor from his Lord had overtaken him, he would certainly have been cast down upon the naked Found while he was blamed. 49 Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous. 50 When the unbelievers hear this Exhortation, they look at you as though they would knock you off your feet with their (hostile) glances. They say: “Surely he is afflicted with madness”; 51 Whereas it is not but an advice to the entire creation! 52
