Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
