The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
