A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Suad. 1 (It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 When Our wrath struck them, they could do nothing but confess to their sins. 5 So undoubtedly We shall question those to whom Our Noble Messengers went, and indeed We shall question the Noble Messengers. 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 (Everyone's deeds) will certainly be weighed (and evaluated) on the Day of Judgment. Those whose good deeds weigh heavier than their bad deeds will have everlasting happiness. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
