۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
