In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow that which is sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians other than Him; little do you remember. 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom were the messengers sent, and We will surely question the sent ones. 6 with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
