Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 On her neck shall be a cord of twisted fibre. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
