Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
