The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 and the Book inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 By the roof elevated. 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
