Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
