Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
