(Firon) said to the chiefs around him: Most surely this is a skillful magician, 34 He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic. So, what do you bid?" 35 They said, 'Put him and his brother off a while, and send among the cities musterers, 36 "And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed." 37 So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known, 38 And it was said to the people, “Have you (also) gathered?” 39 "That we may follow the sorcerers [who were on Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) religion of disbelief] if they are the winners." 40 So when the magicians came, they said to Firaun, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 41 He replied, "Certainly, in that case you will join my inner circle." 42 Musa said unto them: cast whatsoever ye have to cast. 43 So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said: "By the might of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), it is we who will certainly win!" 44 Then Moses cast down his staff and it swallowed up their lying invention, 45 The magicians fell down prostrate, 46 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 47 the Lord of Moses and Aaron." 48 Said [Pharaoh]: "Have you come to believe in him ere I have given you permission? Verily, he must be your master who has taught you magic! But in time you shall come to know [my revenge]: most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and shall most certainly crucify you in great numbers, all together!" 49 They said, 'There is no harm; surely unto our Lord we are turning. 50 Surely we hope that our Lord will forgive us our wrongs because we are the first of the believers. 51

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
