Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 They say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
