Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
A. L. M. 1 Those are the signs of the Wise Book 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is one who purchaseth an idle discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and taketh it by way of mockery. These! for them shall be a torment ignominious. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. 11
