So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
