The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 On a Great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
