۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
