Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and the partitioners, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
