The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You will become three categories: 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and shade extended, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
