The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 Behold, [when Our messages are conveyed to one who is bent on denying the truth,] he reflects and meditates [as to how to disprove them] 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
