Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 noble scribes, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
