The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
