And We sent Noah to his people; and he, said, 'O my people, serve God! You have no god other than He. Will you not be godfearing?" 23 The chiefs of his people, who did not believe, said: "He is only a man like you. He wishes to acquire ascendancy over you. If God had willed He would have sent down angels. We never heard this from our elders. 24 He is only a man in whom is madness wherefore await for him for a season. 25 Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 26 So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family, except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). 27 "And as soon as thou and those who are with thee are settled in the ark, say: 'All praise is due to God, who has saved us from those evildoing folk!' 28 And say: 'Lord, let me land a blessed landing. You are the Best of harborers' 29 There are great Signs in this story; and surely We do put people to test. 30 Then We raised after them another generation. 31 And we sent among them a messenger of their own, saying: Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him.
