Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
