۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 The day when they will see the angels – that day will not be of any happiness for the guilty – and they will cry, “O God, erect a barrier between us and them!” 22 And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about. 23 The inhabitants of Paradise that day, better shall be their lodging, fairer their resting-place. 24 The day the heavens splits asunder with a dazzling white cloud gathering and the angels descend in a continuous stream, 25 That Day, the dominion as of right and truth, shall be (wholly) for (Allah) Most Merciful: it will be a Day of dire difficulty for the misbelievers. 26 Upon that Day the harmdoer shall bite his hands, and say: 'Would that I had taken a Path with the Messenger! 27 “Woe to me – alas, if only I had not taken that one for a friend.” 28 He indeed led me astray from the Remembrance, after it had come to me; Satan is ever a forsaker of men.' 29 And the Noble Messenger submitted, “O my Lord – indeed my people took this Qur’an as worthy of being abandoned.” 30 Thus do We keep opponents among the sinners for every apostle; yet your Lord is sufficient as a guide and helper. 31 The unbelievers say, 'Why has the Koran not been sent down upon him all at once?' Even so, that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have chanted it very distinctly. 32 We will support you with the Truth and the best interpretation whenever the infidels argue against you. 33 Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces, such will be in an evil state, and most astray from the (Straight) Path. 34
