The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
