So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad SAW)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot! 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 AND YET, if they [who refuse to see the truth] were to see part of the sky falling down, they would [only] say: "[It is but] a mass of clouds!" 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! 49
