Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
