The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
