The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky containing great stars 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
