The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
