The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 “This is the Day of Judgement, which you used to deny!” 21
