۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of delight, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
