The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
